Lancaster County Chooses Love is exploring the creation of a county-wide LGBTQ+ & Allied Faculty Network for K–12 educators and school staff.

This network could provide a supportive space for educators to connect with peers, share experiences and resources, discuss challenges, and build community across school districts and educational organizations throughout Lancaster County.

Before deciding what the network will look like, we want to hear directly from the people it is intended to serve.

Join us for an initial virtual listening and planning session where participants can share their ideas, experiences, and needs. Your feedback will help shape the purpose, structure, meeting format, and future direction of the network.

Who Should Attend?

This session is open to LGBTQ+ and allied K–12 faculty and school staff from:

• Public school districts
• Charter schools
• Private schools
• Educational organizations throughout Lancaster County

Teachers, counselors, administrators, librarians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, paraprofessionals, support staff, substitute teachers, and other school professionals are welcome.

What We’ll Discuss

During the session, we’ll explore:

• The most helpful purpose and focus for the network
• Opportunities for peer support and cross-district collaboration
• Resource and best-practice sharing
• Preferred meeting frequency and format
• Virtual and in-person gathering options
• Combined and separate LGBTQ+ and allied affinity spaces
• Interest in an ongoing online discussion community
• What educators need to feel supported and connected

The goal of this first meeting is not to finalize a rigid structure. Instead, we hope to identify community interest, better understand faculty and staff needs, establish shared priorities, and determine thoughtful next steps.
