Training that turns inclusion into everyday practice
An initiative of Lancaster County Chooses Love

The Inclusion Institute is a training and education initiative of Lancaster County Chooses Love. We provide practical, adaptable trainings that help organizations create safer, more inclusive, and affirming environments for the people they serve.

Our approach centers real-world application. We focus on turning values into action through clear tools, shared language, and strategies that can be implemented immediately and sustained over time.

What Is the Inclusion Institute?

The Inclusion Institute brings LGBTQ+ and inclusion-centered training directly into the community. Our work supports organizations that want to move beyond intention and toward meaningful, everyday practices that foster dignity, safety, and belonging.

Our trainings are grounded in lived experience and designed to meet organizations where they are. We recognize that schools, workplaces, faith communities, healthcare providers, libraries, and nonprofits all operate within different realities. Each training is adaptable to audience needs, organizational context, and current challenges.

Through the Inclusion Institute, organizations gain practical skills, clearer understanding, and increased confidence in creating environments where people feel respected, supported, and valued.

Who We Work With

We partner with a wide range of organizations and institutions, including:

  • Schools and educational organizations
  • Workplaces and employers
  • Healthcare providers and end-of-life care organizations
  • Faith communities and congregations
  • Libraries and public institutions
  • Nonprofits and community organizations

Our trainings are appropriate for staff, leadership teams, volunteers, educators, service providers, and community members.

Why Work With the Inclusion Institute?

Our trainings are practical and actionable, grounded in lived experience and community accountability. They are designed to adapt to real-world constraints while centering dignity, safety, and belonging. Each training supports lasting cultural change by helping organizations turn values into everyday practice.

Training Areas

Build core understanding of gender, sexuality, and LGBTQ+ identities while strengthening inclusive language and affirming practices.

Explore how policies, practices, and systems create inequitable outcomes and learn tools for advancing equity through intentional design and review.

Strengthen communication, boundary-setting, and leadership skills that support dignity, respect, and opportunity in professional and community settings.

Develop awareness of bias and its impact, learn to recognize microaggressions, and build skills for respectful, inclusive engagement.

Learn practical strategies for protecting personal data, navigating online safety, and responding to evolving digital risks across different audiences.

Build skills for navigating difficult conversations, de-escalating conflict, and maintaining safety in emotionally charged or high-pressure environments.

Training Format

Trainings are offered in a range of formats and lengths, including introductory sessions, deeper skill-building workshops, and extended trainings. Sessions may be adapted for specific industries, roles, or community contexts.

We work collaboratively with each organization to determine the best approach based on goals, audience, and capacity.
