Queer Voices Staged Reading Festival

Choir Boy

June 14 @ 7:30 pm 9:00 pm

This June, EPAC will be celebrating Pride Month with their third iteration of our Queer Voices Staged Reading Festival, a three-night event presenting a staged reading of a different full-length play each evening, championing LGBTQIA+ representation in the arts. Previous festivals have included works such as The Boys in the Band, Bull in a China Shop, and Pure Glitter.

This year, we are excited to present this festival as Pay-What-You-Can, offering patrons the opportunity to attend for free or by donation.

At this year’s festival, we will be presenting both The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later in partnership with The Matthew Shephard Foundation. These two plays tell the story of Matthew Shephard, and his tragic murder in 1998, and the impact it had on the Laramie community. Now more than ever, with policy rapidly changing and censorship initiatives expanding, we are committed to providing our community with high-quality, thought-provoking theatre. Alongside these two plays we will also be presenting Choir Boy.

This year’s festival takes place June 13 at 7:30 pm(The Laramie Project), June 14 at 7:30 pm (Choir Boy), and June 15 at 2:00 pm (The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later). We will also be doing a talkback with Dennis Shepherd, Matthew’s father, after the performance on Sunday June 15th.
