Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 1 October 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to courses, workshops, trainings, educational programs, and related materials offered through the Lancaster County Chooses Love Inclusion Institute (“Inclusion Institute”).

Lancaster County Chooses Love (“LCCL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Pennsylvania nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

By registering for, purchasing, accessing, or participating in an Inclusion Institute course or training, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. About the Inclusion Institute

The Inclusion Institute provides educational and professional-development opportunities designed to increase knowledge, skills, and understanding related to LGBTQ+ inclusion, affirming practices, community engagement, and other topics consistent with LCCL’s charitable and educational mission.

Trainings may be:

  • self-paced or on-demand;
  • instructor-led and held in person;
  • instructor-led and held virtually;
  • offered free of charge;
  • available for a registration or course fee;
  • provided as part of an organizational or community program; or
  • developed and delivered in collaboration with outside educators, trainers, subject-matter experts, or partner organizations.

Specific course descriptions may establish additional requirements applicable to that particular course.

2. Registration and Accounts

Participants are responsible for providing accurate information when registering for a course or creating an account.

Unless otherwise stated, registration or course access is intended for the individual participant who registered for the course. Login credentials, course access links, and registrations may not be shared with another person.

Organizations seeking to enroll multiple employees, volunteers, or other participants should use organizational or group-registration options when available.

LCCL may establish reasonable prerequisites, age requirements, enrollment limits, or other participation requirements for individual courses.

3. Free Courses

Some Inclusion Institute courses, including certain volunteer orientation or onboarding programs, may be offered without charge.

Free courses remain subject to these Terms and Conditions, including provisions concerning appropriate participation, intellectual property, use of course materials, and certificates or continuing education credit.

LCCL may change, discontinue, replace, or restrict access to a free course at any time.

4. Course Fees and Payment

Fees, when applicable, will be disclosed before registration or purchase.

Payment must be made through the payment methods accepted by the Inclusion Institute at the time of registration.

Course fees apply only to the course, registration, materials, or services identified at the time of purchase. Participation in one Inclusion Institute course does not provide access to other paid courses unless specifically stated.

5. Discounts, Scholarships, and Coupon Codes

LCCL may offer reduced pricing or complimentary access to certain individuals or organizations through:

  • organizational partnerships;
  • Inclusion Institute programs;
  • scholarships or financial-assistance programs;
  • community initiatives;
  • promotional offers; or
  • coupon or access codes.

Eligibility requirements may vary by program.

Coupon codes and discounts:

  • must be used according to the conditions under which they were issued;
  • have no cash value;
  • cannot be redeemed for cash;
  • generally cannot be applied retroactively to a completed purchase; and
  • may have expiration dates or restrictions on eligible courses.

Unless LCCL specifically states otherwise, discounts and coupon codes may not be combined.

LCCL reserves the right to cancel or deactivate a coupon code that has expired, is being used contrary to its intended purpose, or was distributed or obtained without authorization.

6. Self-Paced Courses

Payment for a self-paced or on-demand course is non-refundable once purchased, except when otherwise required by applicable law.

Purchasing a course provides the participant with a limited right to access and use the course for personal educational purposes during the access period identified in the course description.

When an access period is specified, participants are responsible for completing the course within that period.

LCCL may update course content from time to time to improve instructional quality, reflect current information, or address changes in professional practice, terminology, technology, or other relevant circumstances. Updates that do not substantially alter the purpose of a course do not entitle the participant to a refund.

7. Instructor-Led and In-Person Training

Registration for an instructor-led course reserves a place for the registered participant.

Unless a particular course states a different cancellation policy, participant cancellations are subject to the cancellation terms presented during registration.

Failure to attend a scheduled course does not automatically entitle a participant to a refund or transfer.

LCCL may establish course-specific deadlines for cancellations, transfers, substitutions, or refunds.

8. Cancellation or Rescheduling by LCCL

LCCL reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate, or change the delivery format of an instructor-led training when necessary because of circumstances including insufficient enrollment, instructor availability, severe weather, emergencies, facility problems, technological issues, or other circumstances that make delivery of the course impracticable.

If LCCL cancels an instructor-led paid course, registered participants will ordinarily be offered either:

  1. transfer to another available session or comparable course; or
  2. a refund of the registration fee paid.

If LCCL reschedules a paid course and the participant cannot attend the new date, the participant may request a refund or transfer within the timeframe provided in the rescheduling notice.

LCCL is not responsible for incidental expenses resulting from course cancellation or rescheduling, such as travel, lodging, meals, childcare, lost wages, or other costs incurred by participants.

9. Continuing Education Credits

Some Inclusion Institute courses may qualify for continuing education (“CE”) credits, contact hours, professional-development hours, or similar recognition.

Eligibility for CE credit will be identified in the individual course description when applicable.

Requirements vary among professions, licensing boards, employers, credentialing organizations, and jurisdictions. Pennsylvania itself maintains different continuing-education standards for different professions.

Unless the course description specifically states that a particular accrediting or licensing organization has approved the course, LCCL does not guarantee that a course will satisfy any participant’s licensing, certification, employment, or professional-development requirements.

Participants are responsible for determining whether a course will be accepted by their applicable licensing board, credentialing body, employer, professional association, or other authority.

When continuing education credit is offered, participants may be required to:

  • register using their legal or professional name as reflected on their professional credentials;
  • attend or participate for a required amount of time;
  • complete all required course components;
  • complete assessments or evaluations;
  • demonstrate attendance or participation; and
  • provide information required for CE reporting.

Failure to meet applicable requirements may result in the participant not receiving CE credit.

10. Certificates of Completion

Certain courses may provide certificates of attendance or completion.

Receipt of a certificate does not, by itself, represent professional certification, licensure, competency, endorsement by LCCL, or authorization to practice a regulated profession.

When CE credit is associated with a course, the certificate or other documentation may contain information required by the applicable CE program or accrediting organization.

11. Educational Purpose and Professional Advice

Inclusion Institute programs are provided for educational purposes.

Participation in a course does not create a professional-client relationship between the participant and LCCL, an instructor, a course developer, or a partner organization.

Course content should not be considered a substitute for individualized legal, medical, mental-health, tax, human-resources, or other licensed professional advice when such advice is appropriate.

Participants and organizations remain responsible for determining how information presented in a training applies to their particular circumstances.

12. Course Content and Intellectual Property

Training materials may be developed:

  • by LCCL;
  • by individual instructors or professional educators;
  • jointly by LCCL and collaborating educators or organizations; or
  • from appropriately licensed third-party resources.

Unless otherwise indicated, course materials and content are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.

Registration provides participants with a limited, personal, non-exclusive right to use course materials for their own educational purposes.

Without prior written permission from LCCL or the applicable rights holder, participants may not reproduce, republish, sell, distribute, upload, publicly display, modify for redistribution, or use Inclusion Institute materials to provide another training or course.

Participants may not record an instructor-led session through audio, video, screen recording, photography, transcription technology, artificial-intelligence tools, or similar means unless LCCL and, when applicable, the instructor have expressly authorized recording.

13. Respectful Learning Environment

LCCL seeks to maintain an educational environment in which participants, instructors, and community members are treated with dignity and respect.

Participants are expected to engage constructively and refrain from conduct that disrupts a training, threatens or harasses another participant or instructor, or substantially interferes with others’ ability to participate.

LCCL may remove a participant from a training or revoke access to an online course for serious or repeated violations of these expectations.

Removal for violation of these standards may result in loss of course access or registration without refund.

Nothing in this section is intended to prevent respectful disagreement, good-faith questions, discussion, or critical engagement with course material.

14. Accessibility and Accommodations

LCCL is committed to making Inclusion Institute programs accessible.

Participants who require a disability-related accommodation are encouraged to contact LCCL as early as possible before an instructor-led training so that reasonable arrangements can be explored.

Accommodation requests may be directed to:

InclusionInstitute@lancasterchooseslove.org

For self-paced courses, participants experiencing accessibility barriers should contact LCCL so that we can work to identify an appropriate solution.

15. Technology Requirements

Self-paced and virtual courses may require internet access, compatible software, a supported web browser, audio or video capabilities, or other technology.

Participants are responsible for meeting any technology requirements identified for the course and maintaining adequate internet and equipment access.

If an ongoing technical problem with LCCL’s learning platform prevents a participant from accessing a purchased course, the participant should contact LCCL so that we can attempt to resolve the issue or provide another reasonable means of accessing the course.

16. Changes to Courses and Materials

LCCL may periodically revise training content, instructors, course materials, activities, assessments, schedules, or delivery methods.

Because knowledge, terminology, professional standards, and best practices evolve, LCCL may update or retire self-paced courses when appropriate.

LCCL will make reasonable efforts to avoid materially disadvantaging participants who have already purchased access to a course.

17. Third-Party Educators and Partners

Some trainings may be created or presented in partnership with educators, consultants, community organizations, or other professionals.

The participation of a guest educator or partner does not necessarily mean that LCCL endorses every position, service, product, or opinion of that individual or organization.

Likewise, participation in an Inclusion Institute course does not constitute LCCL’s endorsement or certification of a participant or participating organization.

18. Privacy

Personal information collected through registration and participation will be handled in accordance with LCCL’s applicable privacy practices.

For courses involving continuing education credit, LCCL may need to collect, maintain, or provide certain participation information to an accrediting organization, licensing authority, educational partner, or other entity responsible for administering the applicable CE program.

19. Limitation of Educational Guarantees

LCCL strives to provide accurate, thoughtful, and useful educational content. However, educational materials necessarily reflect the information and professional understanding available when they were developed or most recently updated.

LCCL does not guarantee that completing a course will produce a particular professional, employment, organizational, licensing, financial, or other outcome.

20. Changes to These Terms

LCCL may update these Terms and Conditions periodically.

The terms applicable to a particular paid registration will generally be those in effect when the participant registers, except when a change is necessary to comply with law, regulatory requirements, accreditation requirements, or to protect participants or the organization.
