Mik was born and raised in Southern California and later moved to Colorado, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. After college, he relocated to Pennsylvania, where he now lives with his wife and their Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix, Callie.
Mik currently works in child welfare and has held various roles in both the criminal justice and social work fields. These experiences have shaped his passion for creating systemic change and supporting underserved communities, particularly LGBTQ+ youth.
Mik is pursuing his Master’s in Social Work at Millersville University and is on track to graduate in May 2026. His long-term professional goal is to help develop safe, affirming housing specifically for LGBTQ+ youth. He is especially drawn to macro-level work that focuses on shaping policy, improving systems, and making a lasting impact within the community.
