SUMMARY:Lancaster County LGBTQ+ & Allied K–12 Faculty Network Virtual Listening and Planning Session
DESCRIPTION:Lancaster County Chooses Love is exploring the creation of a county-wide LGBTQ+ & Allied Faculty Network for K–12 educators and school staff. \n\n\n\nThis network could provide a supportive space for educators to connect with peers\, share experiences and resources\, discuss challenges\, and build community across school districts and educational organizations throughout Lancaster County. \n\n\n\nBefore deciding what the network will look like\, we want to hear directly from the people it is intended to serve. \n\n\n\nJoin us for an initial virtual listening and planning session where participants can share their ideas\, experiences\, and needs. Your feedback will help shape the purpose\, structure\, meeting format\, and future direction of the network. \n\n\n\nWho Should Attend?\n\n\n\nThis session is open to LGBTQ+ and allied K–12 faculty and school staff from: \n\n\n\n\nPublic school districts\n\n\n\nCharter schools\n\n\n\nPrivate schools\n\n\n\nEducational organizations throughout Lancaster County\n\n\n\n\nTeachers\, counselors\, administrators\, librarians\, nurses\, social workers\, psychologists\, paraprofessionals\, support staff\, substitute teachers\, and other school professionals are welcome. \n\n\n\nWhat We’ll Discuss\n\n\n\nDuring the session\, we’ll explore: \n\n\n\n\nThe most helpful purpose and focus for the network\n\n\n\nOpportunities for peer support and cross-district collaboration\n\n\n\nResource and best-practice sharing\n\n\n\nPreferred meeting frequency and format\n\n\n\nVirtual and in-person gathering options\n\n\n\nCombined and separate LGBTQ+ and allied affinity spaces\n\n\n\nInterest in an ongoing online discussion community\n\n\n\nWhat educators need to feel supported and connected\n\n\n\n\nThe goal of this first meeting is not to finalize a rigid structure. SUMMARY:Youth Homelessness Listening Session
DESCRIPTION:Lancaster County Chooses Love and the Berks Coalition to End Homelessness are hosting a listening session for young people with lived experience of homelessness or housing instability. \n\n\n\nListening sessions create a dedicated space where young people can share their experiences\, insights\, and ideas in an environment rooted in respect\, dignity\, and emotional safety. Participants will be invited to speak openly about what has helped\, what has caused harm\, and what has been missing from local programs and systems without fear of judgment or repercussions. \n\n\n\nThe session has two primary goals: \n\n\n\n\nTo hear directly from young people with lived expertise about the realities of homelessness and housing instability.\n\n\n\nTo gather meaningful feedback that can help improve policies\, programs\, and services through the Youth Homelessness System Improvement initiative.\n\n\n\n\nDate: Tuesday\, July 28Time: 6–8 PMLocation: Griddle & Grind\, 20 W.
